Alex Brown is a very gifted defensive end and equally gifted linebacker. His quickness allows him to beat the offensive double team with precision and design. He has something rarely found in a player his age: the ability to read the offense at a moment’s notice. At 6 foot 2 inch, 220 pounds, he manhandles the offensive line and the secondary blockers in the backfield. His speed in the 40 yard validates his speed on the field. This kid is fast and can move left and right with the ball better than 90 percent of the players on his high school team. At this rating time, he is rated as a player with high DII outlooks and the ability to move up to the DI focus.

Alex Brown, a 6 foot 2 inch, 220 pound defensive end for the Claudia “Lady Bird” Johnson High School Jaguars in San Antonio, may be the defensive newcomer of the year. He is the Jaguars’ top sack leader with seven sacks and the second leading tackler at 30 total tackles. He is an aggressive, quick and powerful junior who makes plays against the run and as a pass rusher, and is on the verge of breaking the school’s single season sack record.

As the son of a former Division I football player and active duty Army officer stationed at Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston, Alex has seen his father deploy multiple times, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He credits the sacrifices of his parents and the support of his teammates as motivation to succeed on and off the field. Each game night he carries his father’s identification tags onto the field as a symbol of his family’s commitment and his respect for the military.
